Easter Happenings in Southern California

Just a few out of the many, many Easter happenings this weekend in the Los Angeles area.

Big Bunny's Spring Fling

Got kids? Have some family fun and celebrate Bunny's Spring Fling with a bunch of fun crafts and activities Easter weekend--pet a fuzzy bunny, plant a carrot, get your face painted, make bunny crafts, take a photo with Big Bunny and enjoy children's musical entertainment. Free with zoo admission from 10am to 4pm.

Hop on over to these famed fairgrounds on Saturday, April 3, for the 4th Annual Easter Festival and Treasure Hunt. The family-fun event happens from 10am to 2:30pm with a treasure hunt (bring your basket to fill with lots of candy and toys), puppet show, free face-painting and free photos. The regular swap meet will take place from 7am to 4pm.

Head downtown the day before Easter on Saturday, April 3, for the annual Blessing of the Animals, a special rite of passage where Cardinal Roger Mahoney delivers a blessing over Angelenos and their pets. The service begins at 2pm. Animals and their owners are instructed to assemble on the north side of the Plaza at El Pueblo Historic Park. The procession and festivities go on from 12pm to 5pm, and it's free for participants.
