{Sweet Spot} southern california kids and family photographer

Yesterday, we spent the day with the boys' Nana down in Lake Forest in Orange County.  It's a bit of a drive for us but I didn't mind at all.  We sang songs and conversed on the way down and on the way home the boys zonked out and took a nice nap.  Driving along the 405 and 101 freeways, I made mental notes on various spots that I want to check out for photo shoots with my clients.  "One of these days, I'll stop here, and there, and there...." and so on.  I actually do this a lot while driving around, stare at all the potential photo ops and it's a wonder that I haven't been in a car accident (knock on wood.)  There are just way too many awesome locations between Ventura and Orange Counties - how will I ever get to it all?!?! 

So when we were about 10 minutes away from home, Chase wakes up and tells me that he has to relieve himself.  We were in Agoura Hills off the 101 freeway at this point and I exited as quicly as I could.  I've passed by this particular spot hundreds of times and always wanted to pull over but never did.... and boy, am I glad that Chase had to go when he did!  There's a little area right off the exit which spoke to me and I couldn't restrain myself.  I brought out my camera and my sweet boys let me make a picture, after picture, after picture.  In fact, they wanted to make some pictures too.... I'll tell you more about the boys' interest in photography in another post!! 

These are just a few images from this sweet little spot. It was a fun challenge to shoot into the sun.  The shots are not technically great but I love the sun flare, the sweet light and my boys' expressions.... they had just woken up so you can see that they're still pretty tired.  Sometimes that's the best time to photograph children ;-)
