Something for Every Type of Dad

I came across a great online resource LA Kid Stuff where they list all kinds of activities and events to do in the greater Los Angeles area.  They have an article listing all kinds of fun activities to do with Dad in LA this Father’s Day Weekend which I wanted to share with you:

Give dad a break from the grill this weekend and take him to a BBQ that for once someone else will prepare! BBQ, Blues and Beer at the L.A. County Arboretum will serve up music as well as food and drink. Fillmore & Western Railway will take him for a ride on their Father’s Day Train Ride, complete with a tri-tip and chicken BBQ lunch. Because dad’s a superstar in your eyes, let him know by taking him to see his fellow luminaries at a Public Star Party at the Griffith Park Observatory. If your dad is an athlete or a sports fan and Lakers playoff tickets didn’t happen for him this year, how about playing Major League-style catch together right on Dodger Stadium field at the annual Dodger’s Father’s Day Catch, where he can also enjoy free dodger dogs, music and activities? Skater dads who still got it can show off tricks at Skatefest in Culver City. Fancy dads need fancy cars, and the Concours d’Elegance in Beverly Hills will bring him up close and personal to luxury automobiles, including this year’s featured brand Jaguar. Retro-cool dads will have fun checking out the Classic Car Show at Paseo Colorado, with hot rods, stock modified and import cars. If dad’s just a car lover in general, Kidspace Museum’s Cars! Cars! Cars! or Thousand Oaks’ Touch-a-Truck events will do the trick. Artistic dads will appreciate the Pasadena Chalk Festival and its more than 500 artists trying to break the Guiness World Record for largest display of pavement art. The art of film-making and the artsy film-fest vibe won’t be lost on dad when the entire family catches a flick at the Los Angeles Film Fest. And a low-key, high-fun activity can be had in downtown L.A. when dad and kids can design and decorate a kite then fly them together at the Children’s Kite Festival.

There’s no shortage of things to do with dad in L.A. this weekend, and most are low cost and free! But we at L.A. Kid Stuff know that the best place we can take our dads is right into our arms for a gigantic bear hug to show them the love and appreciation they deserve for all they do year round!
