My Very Best Friend

Hello friends!  Gosh, I've been doing a terrible job of keeping up with my blog lately.... the truth is that I've been very busy and I've had to let some things, such as blogging, go!  I have been spending more time with my kids as they finish up their first year of school and also helping friends with various projects here and there.  Seriously, the school year went by in a flash and it seems like it was just yesterday that kids were about to enter kindergarten!  I'm also preparing for a busy summer with several sessions coming up and so I just wanted to slow down and enjoy myself.

But anyways, the reason for my post today is so that I can tell you a little about my best friend.  First off, let me just say that I have been very fortunate to have so many amazing friends in my lifetime.  My oldest and dearest friend Jeanne and I have known each other since junior high and I've met many more wonderful friends since then (you know who you are ladies!!)  Michelle is an INCREDIBLE friend... not only to me, but to so many people in her life.  She has a way of making you feel like you are the most important person in her life and she does that with great sincerity.  She has perfected the skill of listening and I mean truly listening with her ears and heart wide open.  She never judges you and is always ready with her words of wisdom and encouragement.  I've known her for something like 12+ years now and she has ALWAYS been there to pick me up when I'm down and always there to cheer me on as my biggest cheerleader.  She loves my boys to death and the boys adore their Auntie Chelleeeeee... and what a bonus that her son who is exactly 11 months younger than my boys, is their best friend!  And just like his mommy,  'D' has a ton of friends and is a wonderful friend to each and every one!

Michelle is kind and generous; she is extremely empathetic and intuitive; she is loyal and trustworthy; a solid person who speaks the truth in only the kindest way; she is a dedicated mother to her son and the most wonderful daughter to her parents.  She is all of these things and so much more... and I am so very lucky to be able to call Michelle my very best friend!  Love you girl!!!!!!

That's me on the left and Michelle on the right.  This photo was taken just this past weekend at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad. Michelle and I finally got to take a vacation together for the first time in a really long time.... our much anticipated trip to Europe over 9 years ago had to be canceled at the last minute due to a medical emergency. There were also lots of LIFE stuff that made it really tough to take a vacation together but at last we got to get away and have a girls weekend! We enjoyed two days of peace & quiet while the daddies watched the kids back home, and we got to soak up a little bit of sun, get massages, listen to live music, have a fancy dinner.... it was awesome.  And I'm already looking forward to the next girl's trip!
